If you do not already have the application, you will be prompted to install it. If the application is properly installed, the classroom will open in a separate window. To get the application, and test your connection, and connection speed, run an Adobe Connect Diagnostic test. However, Adobe Connect has an application that will solve many audio problems, allow you to share your screen. If you do not need to share your screen at any time during the appointment, you may access the virtual room through your browser.

If you are unsure how to view your computer/device specifications, you should be able to find instructions on finding those from an online search. Visit Adobe Connect technical specifications and system requirements to ensure you will be able to access the virtual classroom on your computer or device. You will want to ensure that the computer you are using is capable of handling the Adobe Connect program. If you are concerned about the technical demands for a particular course, please review the syllabus for that course to determine what is required. Not all courses will require a knowledge of all these types of programs. Therefore, a basic understanding of computer programs such as spreadsheets, presentation programs, audio or video creation or editing software, image editing software, and so forth is also very helpful. Many courses require the students to understand how to create and upload a document such as a DOC or an RTF file. Some courses require students to take an image of a project and submit it to be graded. Some instructors require students to make and submit audio or video files. Some online courses may require a variety of additional skills. Basic familiarity with browsers, email, and word processing programs may also be required to successfully complete an online course. Students enrolled in online courses must be able to access the internet and use the keyboard and/or mouse for basic navigation in order to interact with quizzes and media. If parts of a course don't work on your specific device, you will need access to a computer to complete the course. However, advances in mobile technology and Chromebooks have made it possible for some devices to access our courses. Our courses were not specifically designed to work on mobile devices or Chromebooks.
